Imagine a large stage with full color, showering over of an array of beautiful shinny silver and gold horns, 4 shimmering percussion sets, and many stealthy guitars ready to blast.  You may begin to feel like you are at a Santana Concert, or about to watch the legendary Afro Cuban Allstars.  Then you see 12 young people all Canadian, come on to the stage from the murk of the back drop.   Suddenly, you're stunned by a quick BAP-BAP-BAP combination from the horns, then knocked out with a monstrous steam-roller groove laid down by the intense percussion. This electric 12-piece juggernaut simply overwhelms the stage. Funky percolating guitars and thunderous bass grooves ride on the four percussionist's intense latin/afro-beat foundation. Then BAM! Those five horns kick in again, with an epic, blow-your-face-off, leave-you-out-of-breath assault that puts your mind in a daze and your soul in a craze. With Five Alarm Funk on the stage, no one is left standing still!

Based in Vancouver, Five Alarm Funk has packed in over 600 fans at local clubs such as Richard's on Richards and performed at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Revelstoke Beats and Blues, Georgefest in Golden, Music in the Mountains in Invermere, and the Bonfire and Equinox festivals on the Sunshine Coast. Five Alarm Funk is currently at work in the studio recording material for their first CD release.

Though the group is relatively new to the scene, they are making great waves and are quickly becoming THE ACT to have at the top festivals or concert presentations.  This group is not to be missed.
